PCD: GPs and practice team members

Primary care is one of the most rewarding areas to work in, but it can also be one of the most challenging. Our team of advisers are GPs, nurses and practice managers with the expertise and skills to work with you to overcome the challenges you may be facing and to develop the entire team to deliver the best patient care you can.

Coaching

We offer 1-2-1 coaching to GPs and the entire practice staff. Coaching is a supportive and developmental process that enables individuals or teams to enhance their leadership and management skills, improve team working and enjoy increased work satisfaction.  All our coaches are fully qualified and receive regular supervision from the Faculty of Medical Coaches. We can provide both RCGP members and non-members with  coaching support guided by their budget and individual needs.

CQC inspections

If you are preparing for an upcoming CQC inspection or want to improve your rating at your next inspection, our highly experienced advisory team comprised of GPs, practice managers, practice nurses and clinical pharmacists are immediately available to provide support tailored to you. We will work alongside you and your practice team to analyse, identify and enable you to resolve challenges which may affect your CQC outcome.

98% of practices we have supported since 2019 have either maintained their Good rating or improved their CQC rating.

Mediation

Conflict within a general practice or PCN can be very disruptive to the individuals involved and ultimately to the practice’s ability to operate at its highest potential. The RCGP can provide qualified conflict management and mediation support to help you. Our support team of GPs, practice managers and nurses are intimately familiar with how general practice works. We bring our unique level of insight and understanding of general practice to help navigate what can be a very sensitive situation and come to a resolution.

Skills audit and additional roles

Are you making the most of the skills In your practice?

Do you know which of the new roles In the PCN DES you need and how to fit them Into your patients' needs?

Utilising our experience along with national benchmarks we can help you to make sure you have the best mix of skills to support your patients. This includes how to make the best use of the funding and roles within the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), such as clinical pharmacists, physicians associates and link workers to free up time for GPs in your practice.

Away days and team building

A well functioning team not only works together better. It has fewer problems with retaining staff, and those staff have more job satisfaction. Team building days can help to build resilience to challenges and ultimately mean that patients have a better experience and feel cared for.
