Republic of Ireland Faculty
Welcome from Republic of Ireland Faculty, we are a group of volunteer RCGP members who provide local networking, education and support for members in the area. The Faculty supports almost 500 members, Fellows and Associates across the Republic of Ireland. The Faculty has a particular interest in supporting our members' CPD and professional development and provide a range of educational meetings, tailored to local needs, as well as bursaries and awards to support and recognise innovation and development.

This online course will provide you with a real understanding of how to manage the risks involved in remote telephone consultations and the benefits this work can bring when practiced effectively. This day will give you tools and techniques to best handle remote telephone consultations.

Active Bystander Training
This event focuses on challenging inappropriate workplace behaviours from patients and colleagues and will give you the tools needed to be able to do this confidently. Witnessing verbal and physical abuse, discrimination, racism and micro-aggression effects everyone! This event has been developed to support ALL members of the Primary Care Team and we welcome anyone who works in a primary care setting to this event.

Board meetings
We meet four times per year in February, June, September and December to progress our local engagement activities and discuss issues pertinent to our members, which are then fed back to College Council. Our next board meeting will take place online on:

Clinical Cases Presentation Competition 2024
Congratulations to Pavithra Chempakanalloor and Sarah Cherepacha, University College Cork, winners of this Clinical Cases Presentation Competition 2024 with their outstanding presentation on ‘A Common Condition with a Rare Complication’.
Finalists: Nyka Riego and Madeline Haines, Trinity College Dublin and Pavithra Chempakanalloor and Sarah Cherepacha, University College Cork presented at the Clinical Cases Presentation Competition Final at the Republic of Ireland Faculty Spring Meeting at Queen's University Belfast in April 2024.
Sheppard Memorial Essay Competition 2024
This essay competition is open to all undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors who are within five years of completing general practice training. The opening date for entries is Monday 26 August 2024 and the closing date is Friday 25 October 2024.
