As GPs, we frequently encounter children and young people with concerns about possible neurodivergence, yet defining our role in their journey can be complex due to long NHS waiting lists, private assessment pathways, and multi-agency involvement. It's not always clear what we can do beyond referral and asking other providers to help with unmet needs.
