Clinical decision-making for skin infections: from Group A Strep to insect bites

Skin infections are the third most common reason for antibiotic prescribing in primary care, accounting for around 7% of antibiotic prescriptions. This webinar will explore cellulitis in different scenarios such as Group A Strep presentation and insect bites by summarising NICE prescribing guidance and best practice recommendations for management. It will also offer practical tips on how to improve antibiotic prescribing and action planning for skin infections in your practice, as well as how to provide safety netting advice.

GPs and social prescribers are invited to this workshop to learn about developments in nature connection and the associated health and wellbeing benefits, green social prescribing and greening up the NHS at the Clay TAWC community hub with talks from public health and Natural England. Followed by a guided walk on the nearby beautiful Goss Moor national nature reserve which is managed by Natural England.

Active Bystander Training

Witnessing verbal and physical abuse, discrimination, racism and micro-aggression effects everyone! Have you ever been in a situation where you want to challenge someones behaviour - but you didnt know how to do it or what to say? This session has been developed to support ALL members of the Primary Care Team. It includes self-coaching techniques to help you keep a cool head when youre faced with a challenging situation, and assertive language devices which you can use to make sure your voice is heard if you want to raise a concern. The session focuses on challenging inappropriate workplace behaviours from patients and colleagues and will give you the tools needed to be able to do this confidently.
