Women's Health | A practical guide to diagnosis and management of Endometriosis

Scotland is the first country in the UK to have a Women’s Health Plan, outlining ambitious improvement and change in areas including endometriosis. Professor Horne will offer evidence-based advice on the care of women with endometriosis, recommendations on the diagnostic approach, and treatments for both relief of painful symptoms and for infertility associated with the condition.

International Medical Graduate (IMG) Welcome Event

We would like to invite GP trainees who are new to the area, and new to the UK, to a welcome morning. We have invited speakers to talk about their experiences as an International Medical Graduate, including how they navigated training, adjusted to life in the UK and tips for passing the MRCGP exams. We will also have Greg Povey from Wesleyan to talk about financial planning for the future and understanding UK finances , specifically aimed at those of you who are from abroad; as well as speakers discussing tips on how to navigate life in the UK and alternative sources of support for all International Medical Graduates (IMGs). You will meet the Associate in Training leads (AiT) who are your representative in the College and some Midland Faculty officers who will be here to support you through your journey within the Midlands . There will be plenty of opportunity to network and meet your peers.

Mental Health | Young people's mental health: the GP consultation

RCGP Scotland are delighted to work alongside The Charlie Waller Trust to deliver this afternoon webinar with Dr Maryanne Freer. Using GP cases, aids are introduced which will assist in GP consultations with young people with mental health problems. You will cover the detection of a mental health problem, risk management and practical management plans whilst waiting to be seen. This topic is very popular due to the long CAHMS wait times.
