Equality and diversity: Age

Your life experience and perspectives enrich the College and we want you to share them across our communities. Our inclusive approach aims to foster and maintain a talented group of individuals, of all ages.

We have active communities of Medical Students and Foundation Doctors, through to Later Career and Retired Members; a thriving mentorship scheme; and a variety of events that rely on the breadth of experience across our whole membership.

Here you can find member data, community stories, tell us your own story, and find helpful resources to develop your learning.

Later Career & Retired Member (LCARM) Community Group

At the RCGP we value your experienced voice; together, we can be a powerful force for general practice.

As a later career or retired member, you have a place to share your knowledge, enjoy rewarding friendships and get the most from your professional family.

The LCARM Community Group meets formally four times a year and ensures that later career and retired members have the opportunity to:

  • Shape their experience as a member of the RCGP
  • Discuss matters relevant to their stage of the career and beyond
  • Make suggestions and propose changes to improve the College's offer

Members of the LCARM Community Group represent their local RCGP Faculty. To find out who your local representative is and for further information visit our Later Career and Retired Members (LCARM) community group page
