College ‘strongly refutes’ allegations made in BMA trainee letter

The College has issued the following response to an ‘open’ letter from the BMA’s trainee committee on examination attempts for doctors with disabilities. College Chair Professor Kamila Hawthorne said:

“We strongly refute the allegations made in this letter and are committed to ensuring that the MRCGP examination is lawful, consistent, and fair to all trainees. Patients and the public need to be reassured that doctors passing the licensing exams for UK general practice are competent and safe.”
