Spring update from Cumbria Faculty

A number of problems were discussed at the Member Community Groups Summit a few months ago (November 2022). These included strategies for ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion across faculty levels, as well as a talk about empowering IMGs in the local community. There were also sessions on:

  • climate change and sustainable healthcare,
  • how to be a college champion, managing wellbeing, and
  • a concise breakdown of the value/benefits of RCGP membership.

In terms of learning and networking, the RCGP Annual Conference and Exhibition will be taking place in Glasgow from 19 to 20 October. Do you want to be heard, present your research, get valuable CPD at no extra cost, or be re-energised and inspired? The conference is a must-attend event which features motivational speakers as well as the most recent clinical and policy advancements in primary care in the United Kingdom. 2023 Cumbria annual awards

Remember to submit and vote for your friends, co-workers, mentors, and practices for the RCGP Cumbria 2023 Annual Awards, to recognise the hard work we all put in. The deadline for submissions is May 15, and the divisions are:

  • Cumbria AiT of the year,
  • GP of the year,
  • Practice team of the year.

If you're looking for a place to store evidence for particular medical treatments, that will help you make decisions about managing long-term conditions, GP Evidence is a good place to start.

April RCA

It's understandable that the earlier change to the April RCA diet created confusion and concern among several AiTs. Please accept our sincere apologies. The most recent change, which guarantees there are two diets for the April RCA, alleviates concerns and allows all trainees who want to take the examination in March or April to do so. The College will guarantee an adequate number of examiners. See more information on recent updates to the assessment.
