Our popular minor surgery courses use state-of-the-art models, instruments and simulated tissues to give full hands-on training and theoretical sessions.

Topics include: Preparation and planning; instruments materials and sterilisation; local anaesthesia; basic surgical technique; epidermal cysts and abscesses; snip, scrape and shave lesions; pigmented lesions; cryosurgery; joint injection techniques and skin cancer.

RCGP Scotland | 1 day Joint Injections | 13 May 2025

Due to demand, we are hosting two, separate, one-day Joint Injections courses on Tuesday 13 May and Wednesday 14 May. This course is open to trainees, General Practitioners and Practice Nurses in Scotland working with musculoskeletal patients, who would like to improve their assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions, including practical use of corticosteroid joint and tissue injections. This is a highly practical course and consists of a series of short and punchy lectures in the morning, followed by hands-on demonstrations and supervised practice for the rest of the day.

RCGP Scotland | 2 day Minor Surgery 2025

This two-day course is open to trainees, General Practitioners and Practice Nurses and will enable attendees to develop the skills required to run a successful minor surgery service in primary care. Topics covered include; minor skin procedures and non-surgical techniques, as well as advice about how to set up a service and the medico-legal and contractual obligations required of those practicing minor surgery.
